Civil War Pistols, Confederate Pistols and Union Pistols
Reel-guns and six-shooters were not a new invention at the onset of the American Civil War, but the reliability and portability of these firearms throughout the conflict probably helped to solidify their reputation into what would become one of the most iconic firearms of the American Wild West. And at Dark Knight Armoury, we carry a number of authentic looking Civil War pistols. The predominant pistol of the era was not the six-gun of the cowboy, though, but its predecessors, the cap and ball pistol along with the later-model percussion cap pistol. Some officers preferred their earlier issued cap and ball, while others preferred the later model percussion. All of the pistols found in this section are made from cast metal, wood, and resin parts, which ensures that they not only look realistic, but also feel realistic too. They recreate the Navy revolvers of 1851 and the Army revolvers of 1861, while also including such famous firearms as the Confederate Le Matt, which had a smoothbore barrel that could fire buckshot mounted under the pistol barrel, and the Baby Philadelphia Derringer, which was the style of pistol used to assassinate President Lincoln. As realistic as they look, though, these pistols are all perfectly safe for use, as their moving parts recreate a stunning look, while their design as a replica makes then incapable of firing actual shots. Many even work with replica bullets and all pair nicely with our leather Civil War holsters, which only further enhances their realism. Some are designed as solo pieces, which means you get the gun and the gun only, while others are offered as a part of display kits and plaques, which makes them as great for costume use, reenactment, and role-play as they are for display in your home or office! Realism and safety meet in these Civil War pistols, and that makes any one of them from Dark Knight Armoury a solid choice when it comes to carrying one at your hip or showing one off in the safety of your home.
