Viking Helms, Norman Helms, Viking Helmets, Viking Horned Helms and Gjermundbu Helms

When it came to battle, Vikings were not a complex people, and this shows quite heavily in their arms and armor. At Dark Knight Armoury, we offer a selection of great looking Viking helmets that are both historically accurate and plenty protective, ensuring that you can look as much like a Viking as you wish, while also staying safe from stray blows to the head. We also offer a number of attractive Norman and Saxon helmets for the reenactors or collector to enjoy as well. It has long-been accepted that when Vikings went to war, they wore helmets adorned with wings and horns, but these were really more of the traditional ceremonial garb, worn only for special occasions, if at all. The typical Viking helmet was actually more like a spagenhelm or nasal helm, possessing a nose guard and a partially domed cap that will protect your head. Some Viking helms also feature cheek protectors, although these are not necessarily a common feature on all Viking helmets. Norman helmets are similar in shape, possessing a rounded cap and a nose-guard, although Norman helmets tend to be more conical, while Viking helmets are more rounded at the top. If you are looking for a Viking helmet that you can wear into battle, many of our Viking and Norman helmets are fit for use in combat, ranging from the relative safety of LARP fighting to the more dangerous arena of reenactment and mock-battle! If you are looking for a Viking helmet, either from fantasy or history, then you have come to the right place, because at Dark Knight Armoury, we have a wide selection of Viking inspired headgear that will keep your noggin safe, ensuring that you can keep on raiding and pillaging for as long as you desire.
