Viking Daggers

The Vikings were a hardly people, and of course, they would have needed a hardy dagger. Yet the Viking Dagger, also known as a seax, wasn't used only the by the Vikings, but rather found its way into the hands of many peoples, making a typical seax a Norman dagger, a Saxon dagger, and a general, all-purpose medieval dagger, too! In fact, in Northern Europe, the seax was known by many names, ranging from seax to sax to scramasax, and it was practically a universal dagger carried by virtually all warriors, either as a primary edged weapon or as a side-arm for use with an axe, a sword, or a spear. Viking daggers and seax were quite varied in shape and size as well, ranging from small utility knives that were perfectly suited for various purposes, to long, cutting blades that could take the place of a small sword when used in battle. Our own seax, scramasax, and selection of Viking daggers parallel that variety, featuring a number of different shapes, offering a number of different uses. Some of our seax are perfect for display, while others have a carbon steel blade that's as functional as it is pretty, making them great for reenactment. Suffice to say, if you're looking to get in-touch with your inner Viking, then you're going to want a good seax, and there's no better place to get one then here in the Viking Daggers section at Dark Knight Armoury.
