Roman Camping Gear

The Roman military was no stranger to camping. Soldiers on the march didn't always have forts or buildings to sleep in, so military camps, filled with tents, torches, and more were common among the Legion and their auxiliary troops. And now, Dark Knight Armoury, we've found some bits and bobbles of Roman camping gear that you can use to make your outdoor experience more historic, too. And if the equipment found here is anything to judge on, Roman camps looked to be quite comfortable, bringing some fair amenities to the wild so that soldiers, auxiliaries and legionaries alike, could rest after a long day's march in some comfort. Basic camp utilities like fire pits and camp warmers are of course to be found here, as are other accessories like portable camp stoves, old fashioned pots and pans, and more. There are also tripod stools and folding seats, so that you can take your seat with you when you pack up and move, just as there are also powder horns, drinking horns, and canteens, to help keep supplies, including precious water, readily available to your every need. We even offer a few standards, which you can take into the ground and carry along with you, so that everyone who passes your campsite or your hiking expedition will know that you venture in the wilderness in the name of the Roman Empire! Pay us a visit here at Dark Knight Armoury and pick up a few pieces from our Roman camping gear section, and you'll be ready to infuse some history into your camping experience. And who knows? You may just love the warming pits and the Roman stoves so much that you'll want to use them again and again, on all your outdoor adventures!
