Even in the medieval age, eagles were thought to be kings of the air. This Heraldic Eagle Heater Shield is emblazoned with the eagle as its main charge, which serves not only as a kingly defense, but also as a great showing of true heraldic style. The heater shield first evolved around the 13th century, where improvements in armor caused a reduction in shield size. This was actually a good thing, as the predecessor, the kite shield, was too large to be used effectively on horseback, while the heater shield offered good coverage both on foot and on a horse. This particular shield shields a vivid yellow-orange field (or background), which is emblazoned with a black eagle displayed, with its wings and legs spread out, while touches of white accent the feathers and red touches make up its claws and tongue. The shield otherwise echoes classic heater shield shaping, possessing a flat top, and curved sides that draw the shields base down into a point. The shield is made from fine hardwoods, and is fully functional, making it a good shield to carry into battle, or a good shield to have on display. Either way you use it, this Heraldic Eagle Heater Shield is sure to serve you well, and it is also bound to catch the eye and interest of others who see it, whether it is on your arm or your wall, too.
