Before you march into battle, brave warrior, you must prepare for the combat ahead. Protect yourself with the Italian Churburg Cuirass. Made from 16 gauge mild steel, this cuirass includes a breastplate, backplate, faulds, and a culet. The breastplate secures to the backplate with straps at the shoulders. The breastplate attaches with buckles to the faulds while the backplate attaches with buckles to the culet. Then, the culet has a strap that wraps around the front of the faulds. This helps to keep the front and back sections together. There are three straps on the front and three on the back.
Next, the breastplate has a high neckline and large arm holes. The neckline angles outwards a little bit. Below the neckline, there is a curved, V-shaped bar. The bar acts as a stop-rib, which helps to deflect blows away from the neck and face. Then, at the bottom, the fauld has four plates. One plate overlaps the breastplate. It is the innermost plate. The plate furthest from the breastplate features a line of decorative riveting. Meanwhile, the culet has two plates, one of which overlaps the backplate. The culet acts like a series of faulds for the back of the wearer. Add the Italian Churburg Cuirass to your ensemble for a historical reenactment. It works well with a variety of medieval and Renaissance characters.
Please note that steel thickness may vary slightly due to the handcrafted methods used in the manufacture of this item.
