Our Simple LARP Sword is from our Ready for Battle line. The Ready for Battle line is a less expensive line that is still durable and made of quality foam, but is not as detailed as our other lines making them very affordable and great for beginners or those on a small budget. This sword features a classic medieval design with simple lines. With the simple design, it can be used for just about any character or theme.
The hilt and pommel comes in gold, silver, or bronze. Handle colors may vary as well. Unfortunately we are unable to pick specific color combinations for orders.
The sword is approximately 29.25 inches in overall length. This measurement will vary as they are handmade items.
Key Features:
- A quality weapon for an affordable price
- High safety rating, approved by the top organizations
- Made from durable closed cell foam that does not shred
- Features a round, flexible fiberglass core
- Strong Kevlar core tip protection
Materials:
- Crafted from polyurethane foam
- Finished with a latex coating
- Core is made of fiberglass

Care Instructions:
- Latex weapons do need to be maintained to a certain degree. We offer a 100 ml LARP Protection Gel Silicone (MCI-3722) that can be purchased separately in the LARP Accessories section. We recommend you use the silicone on a regular basis. The silicone will keep the coating flexible and make the weapons last much longer. The maintenance silicone protects the coating from drying out, and helps the weapon resist wear and tear.

It’s a decent length for a shortsword, coming in at just under 30″. For your average fighter under 5’7” this piece pairs perfectly with a shield or dual weapon. For those inching closer to 6’ I’d look for a longer blade.
The hit on this piece is like a dream. It’s hard to be mean to someone when you’re swinging a pillow on a stick. This is an excellent weapon for beginner fighters who are working on calibrating their hits.
It’s incredibly light, almost deceptively light to the point it feels as though you were cheated out of a few ounces. However it is well-balanced. The leather-wrapped handle is a nice touch and is the sole reminder that you’ve got a sword in your hands.
The only downside is, like a lot of other Epic Armory weapons, there is latex used in the piece. If any of your fighters have a severe latex allergy, I’d say move on.
TL;DR This is an excellent and affordable shortsword for fighters learning about their games and those on a budget. For just $40, the “RFB Sword” is a hard piece to pass on.
